The Archimedeans Annual Dinner will be taking place on the 10th of March at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel. Enjoy yourself with a drinks reception, where you can mingle with other society members and our honorary guests, followed by a three course meal with wine. Professor Caulfield will be the guest speaker for the night.

Dress code is black tie.


Honorary Guests

Each year we take your suggestions as to who we should invite as our honorary guests. This is done as part of the ticketing system. Please suggest your favourite lecturers, supervisors, or any other members of the Maths department that we should invite and we’ll try and organise it so that they sit close to you.


Food and Drinks

When buying a ticket you will have the following choices for your starter, main and dessert. The meal also includes half a bottle of wine. However, you are welcome to bring your own wine, subject to a £10 corkage fee per bottle of wine or £15 per bottle of sparkling wine.

Starter

Atlantic Prawn Cocktail

served on shredded lettuce and baby gems finish with marie rose dressing

Smoked Chicken and Walnut Salad

with olive oil and fresh tomato salsa

Trio of Melon (V)

consisting of sweet charentais melon, galia melon and honeydew finished with creme fraiche and wild mixed berries

Main

Confit of Banbury Duck Leg

served with sweetened orange segment marmalade and red wine sauce

Baked Fillet of Salmon

with braised fennel and dill

Stuffed Aubergine (V)

with tomato, mozzarella pine nuts and finished basil pesto

All are served with seasonal vegetables and tuned roasted potatoes

Dessert

Double Chocolate Brownie

served with vanilla ice cream and toffee butter sauce

Brandy and Blueberry Bread and Butter Pudding

served with creme Anglaise

Fresh Exotic Fruit Salad (V)
